About us
Flint Hills Four is barbershop quartet dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the barbershop harmony style. Based in Kansas, they focus on traditional four-part barbershop harmony and aim to encourage the youth to enjoy this timeless musical style. The group was founded in September of 2025 and members Jonathan, Danny, Corbin, and Shaun all reside in Kansas in and around the rolling flint hills.

Jonathan Andrews
Tenor
For over 25 years, Barbershop has shaped Jonathan's musical journey and life. After getting a taste of 4-part a capella harmony at Topeka High School, he jumped at the chance to join a group with his college friend Shaun. That led to joining the Heart of America Chorus, where Jonathan eventually became the baritone section leader and assistant director.

On a lark, Jonathan auditioned to become the new director of his hometown Capital City Chorus. To his surprise, they liked him enough to hire him! He has directed and arranged songs for this mixed group for the past 11 years.

Throughout this time, competitive quarteting has been a goal for Jonathan. From Back in Business, to Resonation, to the short lived TETRAUQ, to mixed group Sunday Night Social, to his most recent and longest tenured group DoubleStuf, Jonathan thanks the brothers and sisters who've harmonized with him.

Jonathan is a father of 2 kind hearted daughters, Leila and Nia. He enjoys theater and sports (Rock Chalk! Aupa Atleti!), and solving problems as a fleet manager for a trucking company. He hopes you enjoy Flint Hills Four!

Danny Wellman
Lead
Danny Wellman, lead, grew up harmonizing with his older sisters while they washed dishes together. He got his first drum set at the age of 10. He started playing the guitar when he was 17. Danny spent high school and college
singing and playing in every ensemble his schools offered. His degree is in music performance and during college, his best friend introduced him to barbershop. Danny sang in two quartets (Second Floor and Back in Business) as well as performed with the Heart of America Chorus before moving to Austin, Texas in 2010. During Danny’s stint in The Lone Star State, he sang in two acapella mixed groups, dabbled being a drummer and then the front man in a country band and led music at his church. Days after returning home to Kansas, he helped form the Flint Hills Four. His biggest fans are his wife of 28 years, Lisa and their daughters, Reagan and Paige. Danny pays his bills by programming (remotely) for Aligned Data Centers of Plano, Texas. He’s a Star Wars (OT) nerd, makes a mean bowl of salsa and eats too much Tex Mex whenever he can.

Corbin Donavan
Baritone
Corbin Donavan began his barbershop journey in January of 2019 when he auditioned to sing with the South Central Kansas SmorgasChorus. A lifelong singer, Corbin has been singing bass in every ensemble he has been in up to this point. Flint Hills Four is his first foray into the world of baritone! He sang in the Bison Glee Club at Oklahoma Baptist University where he met his lovely wife, Aly. They have been married for 11 years and have one daughter, Amelia. Corbin previously sang in two other quartets, Swipe Right and Back to Basics. Corbin has served on the board of directors for the SmorgasChorus as the membership development VP and the President. He spends his days as an executive for a commercial Lawn Care and Landscaping company. When he’s not barbershopping, he enjoys spoiling his girls, playing disc golf and smoking meats on his smoker!

Shaun Whisler
Bass
Shaun Whisler is a graduate of the University of Kansas where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance. Raised in Olathe, Kansas, Shaun developed his passion for music, singing, and directing as a member of the 1995 ACDA National Honor Boys Choir and the 1998 SWACDA Men’s Honor Choir. In addition to his involvement in the music department at KU, Shaun sang for the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Civic Opera of Kansas City and New Dinner Theater of KC. Shaun spent his down time singing in competitive barbershop quartets from Junior High through college. He has built his professional resume directing church choirs and barbershop choruses and performing regionally as a soloist and part of ensembles. Shaun’s previous quartets include Back in Business, Voices Unlimited, BoomTown and HOME. On top of barbershop, he sings the Croon part in Local duo Key’s & Croon and is a frequent National Anthem performer at regional sporting events. In his free time Shaun and wife Janelle enjoy hiking, watching KU sports, Royals, Chiefs, Sporting KC and Current, and spending time with their two daughters Brooke and Brilee and son Brett. Shaun’s full-time Job is Director of Music and Liturgy at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence since 2014.
